  • Gigs I've been to

I've been to a few music and comedy gigs over the past couple of years, some better than others.
The first gig I ever went to was The Darkness at Wembley a few years back, not bad for a first gig. They were supported by Ash and Do Me Bad Things, which I enjoyed both as well.
Next 1 I went to was Foo Fighters in Hyde Park in 2006. I was expecting a lot better considering the venue. The volume was way too low, with everyone singing along you could barely make out the song playing, only from the crowd singing. Considering I was as close as you could get without being in the golden circle (which was huge so couldnt get anywhere near the stage without being in there) it was pretty poor. Also the Foos set was short, not much longer than 1 hour. Though I suppose some of the support was good, Julliette and the Licks, Queens of the Stone Age, Angels and Airwaves and Motorhead. And Bryan May and Roger Taylor also came on to perform a song with the Foos.
A month later I saw Red Hot Chili Peppers at Earlas Court. Amazing. Favourite band and favourite gig ever! And actually being able to get close to the stage (still a golden circle, but the whole arena is prob around the size of Hyde Parks golden circle).
Another month later, the debut of the Electric Gardens festival, a 10 min walk from my house. Headlined by The Charlatans, and a shit load of other bands, not very well known. Only band I actually knew before going was The Automatic. However my fav band there was The Fratellis. And the best bit, no golden circle. Only thing between me and the stage was a barrier and a few security guards.

Anyway thats it for music gigs. As for comedy, well I've seen Joe Pasquale a couple times, he originally comes from Kent, sparking my interest in him.
Got a couple more coming up, next may I'm going to see Sean Lock at Hammersmith. It's also being filmed for a DVD. But before that, the one I'm looking forward to most, Jimmy Carr, only 3 weeks away, 22nd Dec at Hammersmith. My favourite comedian! Might look at booking another show next year as well as he's also doing a couple more local in Kent.

Anyway that's it for this post. That killed about half hour. Off to find something else to do.

  • Welcome

Hey and welcome to my blog.  Not sure why I'm here really, found the site, signed up.  Well I guess I'll make some use of it, probably by talking a load of crap, maybe films I've seen, bands I've seen, shit like that.

Anyway if anyone is reading then let me know, so I don't feel like I'm sitting here talking to myself.
